DESCRIPTION:
**Readable Barcode Formats EAN-8, EAN-13, UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN/UPC supplemental code (add on 2/5 and ISBN), Industrial-25, Interleaved-25, Matrix-25, Code 39, Code 93, Code 32, Code 128, Codabar, MSI/Plessey, Code 11, Code 255, Post 25, China Postal Code, Telepen and all other designations for these codes.
This scanner is designed for office, warehouse, shipping or Point of Sale use. The unit is housed in a high-impact ABS plastic case, and can sustain a 1 meter drop to a concrete surface. The unit reads all standard linear barcodes. It will read codes with narrow bar widths of 0.004" or larger, and code widths of up to almost 4 inches.The KeyWedge unit connects between the keyboard and the computer of a PC or Mac system. The RS-232 model can connect to the COM: port of a PC or other device designed to accept an RS-232 input. Barcode data read by the scanner appears as though it were typed manually on the keyboard, yet takes only a fraction of the time and eliminates human error.
The scanner has all the software built into it. The keyboard wedge unit comes with a Y cable which you plug in-between the computer and the keyboard. When you read the barcode the data is entered into the cell of your program as if it were typed on the keyboard. There are no database programs that come with the unit, you can use Word, Excel or other applications or ask us for some really good software for FREE. (with purchase)

It is simple to use and requires no regular maintenance. Just an occasional wipe of the aperture window. Connecting to the computer is easy and no specialist knowledge is required. These are truely "Plug and Play" scanners. The manual has barcodes that tell the scanner what you want it to do. It can share the keyboard port - use of the keyboard is not affected or for USB or RS-232 plugs right into your PC. No special driver software or other alterations to the computer are required. Most users will use this scanner 'straight from the box' with no set-up procedures at all.
INTERFACE OPTIONS;
*RS232 Industry standard serial protocol.
*KeyWedge Enables simple interfacing to any application running on an industry standard PC. Sends barcode data directly into your application, just as if the data had been typed at the keyboard.
*USB easily plugs into PC or laptop computers
*PS2 plugs into open mouse ports (for Mac and PC)
For use with applications that normally accept input from the keyboard, this scanner enables use of barcodes without any software modification. Data scanned appears exactly as though it was entered on the keyboard. The RS-232 Model can connect to any device that normally takes a serial data input.
RS232 Note- This communication type has the following properties;
1.) RS-232 does not work with window applications (EXCEL, WORD etc.) without additional communications software where the PS2 or USB scanners do not require this.
2.) The scanners are factory set for USB or PS2 communication. To set the RS-232 mode you must go to page 10 in the manual and scan "START", "RS232", then "END".
3.) The preset for RS232 is Baud rate 9600/ Data bits 8 bit/ parity disabled. Depending on your system settings you may have to change these settings using page 13 of the manual. In Windows you can use Hyperterminal to change your scanners communication parameters with a tab delineated text file. (Programs/Accessories/Communications/Hyperterminal)
